Campbell Eben Beaumont

Campbell Eben Beaumont served as a judge for the Southern District of California from 1939 to 1954. Beaumont was born on August 27, 1883 in Mayfield, Kentucky and was in the Kentucky National Guard from 1904 to 1906. He received a Bachelor of Laws degree from Cumberland University in 1910. Beaumont practiced law in Fresno, California from 1912 to 1914. He then joined the prosecutor's office where he eventually district attorney in 1918. Beaumont also served as a judge on the Superior Court of California from 1921 to 1939. On July 27, 1939 President Franklin D. Roosevelt nominated Beaumont to serve as a district judge for a new seat authorized by 52 Stat. 584. He was confirmed by the Senate on August 1, 1939 and served as on the Southern District Court until his passing on November 19, 1954.
