Justin Reed Walker

Justin Reed Walker is as judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Walker was born in 1982 in Louisville, Kentucky. He received his bachelor's degree from Duke University in 2004 and his law degree from Harvard in 2009. After law school, he opened his own practice in D.C. briefly before serving as a law clerk to Judge Brett Kavanaugh on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit from 2010-2011, and then Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy on the U.S. Supreme Court from 2011-2012. Walker then opened his own practice in Louisville, Kentucky in 2013 and served as an assistant professor of law at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law from 2015-2019. From October 24, 2019 to September 2, 2020, Walker served as a judge for the U.S. Western District Court of Kentucky. On May 4, 2020, President Donald Trump nominated Walker to become a judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. The Senate confirmed his nomination on September 2, 2020.
